I chose to talk about a blend of my childhood life and how it has impacted my outlook on the future, along with my interests and accomplishments from the past to the present. I wanted to centralize the theme around being independent, rather than dependent, and how in the long run it will make you a more confident and successful person. I know many people are afraid to make that jump over the ledge, but if I can tell listeners how it has so far impacted my life, than hopefully that would influence others to take the road less traveled. Being college students, I am sure the majority of people get help from their parents, and there is nothing wrong with that. For certain things though, it is worth being independent, because that is the only way you will be able to find out who you truly are and where your passions lie.

Initially, in my first audio bio draft I spoke about my future goals and aspirations. I was unaware that an overall lesson, or story, was supposed to be the main underlying purpose of the project. With that in mind I focused audio bio draft two on my parents influence on me when growing up, and how I eventually realized that I did not want my parents making decisions for me on what I am interested in. Using specific anecdotes, I was able to further illustrate my life in the past and present. I wish I was able to talk about my interests and the stories behind them in more detail, but it ultimately came down to exceeding the time limit for the project. With the final audio draft, I put together a piece of work that was able to touch the reader with meaningful spoken word and fitting sound effects.

Assessing my final audio bio draft, there is always room for improvement. With that being said, I would have not submitted this final audio bio draft if I was not comfortable with my work. I wish I had more time to work with rather than being constrained to a recording time interval, like I previously touched upon, so I could further expand upon the details of my passions and hobbies compared to the past and present. This being to show the transition of my passions and hobbies from what my parents placed me in to what I diverted to on my own. Also from a time perspective, receiving more feedback and doing a few more drafts would have made the final audio bio draft stronger as well. I love receiving feedback on my work, the more feedback the better. Though this is something that couldn’t really be changed, being limited to sounds clips with a creative commons license was something that I was slightly upset about. There are so many songs that would have been really fitting for my audio bio, but unfortunately was unable to use. Being on the other end of the recording when interviewing the refugee, the audio bio project will prove to be useful when listening to the refugee speak. I will be able to pick out certain pieces of audio that I want to use, put in pauses for desired effects, and grasp the true meaning of what refugee is trying to deliver throughout the entire interview. I am excited to listen to the refugee’s story and see if i can pick out the underlying meaning in order to present it in a succinct format.
